The Church Defined - Part 1

May 25, 2025    Lead Pastor, Jose Santiago

What if church isn't a place we go, but who we are? This powerful message challenges us to rethink our understanding of 'church.' Drawing from 1 Peter 2:9-10, we're reminded that we are 'chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession.' These aren't just lofty titles, but our true identity in Christ. We're called out of darkness into light, not just for our own benefit, but to declare God's goodness to the world. This shifts our perspective from being consumers of church to being the living, breathing body of Christ on earth. It's a call to move beyond merely attending services to truly belonging to a community of believers. As we embrace this identity, we're challenged to step into authentic relationships, to be known and to know others, reflecting the true nature of the church as Jesus intended.
